Eleven years after arriving in Alaska, the hybrids have built a new compound on the Yukon River. A novel strain of smallpox erupts, and blame falls on the hybrids, fueling hatred and persecution. A resistance movement emerges to help the hybrids get to safety and escape capture. However, the xenophobia intensifies when their alien cousins make themselves known. Will their extraterrestrial kin help them or put them in further danger?
