A yuri (more shojo-ai) manga that is cute, has no consent issues and little angst!Strawberry Shake (sweet) is about Julia, a 16 year old idol and about Ran a soon to be idol that is assigned Julia as her mentor. Julia is really hardworking, but instead of teaching Ran, she focuses on the other girl who she has a massive crush on. This crush results in a lot of accidents and a lot of funny situations. Ran is blind to it, Saeki-san, Julia's manager, wishes she was.There are some other secondary characters. Saeki's no-shit attitude I loved, especially with her hints of a caring personality. There is Kaoru, a hair stylist that is always 'hitting' on Saeki and who develops a relationship with another idol Haruna. I did not care for the last relationship and thought it was creepy. Kaoru doesn't seem to make sexual moves on Haruna but the power dynamic is still problematic.Then there are the members of ZLAY, which are a pun on another real-life band. They were entertaining.Saeki also has her own admirer.Nothing happened in terms of a romantic relationship but it's obvious that Ran also has feelings for Julia. They put each other first, even before themselves and do disgustingly cute things for each other.Will definitely read the second volume. This one made me laugh out loud and bang on my chair several times.
