l became a fan of the character back in 2007 after a change in the Spiderman books dissolved the hero's marriage after 20 years and reversed the revelation of his identity via a deal with one of Marvel's analogs to the devil. [Mephisto].lt was largely an editorial fiat to 'deage' Peter Parker by making him single.l disliked the subsequent direction and had been fond of the marriage. The MC2 universe of which Spidergirl was the centerpiece was a refuge from the main books. ln it the marriage endured and Peter had a daughter and much later a son.The continuity took off from the point in the late 90's when de Falco last wrote Spiderman and his infant daughter was killed off.An alternate future was thus created.l came late to the series but the digests were a great way to catch up. l wish they's completed the entire first run of 100 issues in digest form but so far they haven't. The subsequent series was canceled after several permutations l followed. l miss it.
